I will do my website review of www.renewableenergyworld.com
For my writing assignment, I will write a letter to my city council person about renewables in my hometown of St. Paul, MN.
For the group project, I will work on the EcoHouse design.
WEBSITE REVIEW:
I was looking for more information on different sources of renewable energy, especially Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) and I found www.RenewableEnergyWorld.com. The website has many great resources on not only OTEC, but also wind, solar, geothermal, and hydrogen. I appreciated that the website had articles with varying levels of complexity, and it seemed like most things were up to date. Additionally, the website has tons of news, product reviews, and information about national and regional events pertaining to renewables. Further, they had tons of articles from their own magazine Renewable Energy World available on the website as well. The articles were well written and thoughtful and I learned more about OTEC. Renewable Energy World appears to be their own entity and pulls from other well established news sources like theNew York Times or the Wall Street Journal. I couldn't find a distinct author or editor for the site. Overall, I would highly recommend this website if you need some basic information on renewables or want to look at new products.
