Interview Questions:
1) Introduce yourselves; tell us about yourselves and the Phoenix Café and Market
2) What originally inspired you to incorporate local foods into your menu? Why is local food important to you?
3) How long have you supported local foods?
4) Could you describe some obstacles or satisfying challenges that you face as you incorporate local foods in a restaurant setting?
5) What specific items do you get locally and how does it vary with the seasons?
6) Could you describe the organization of buying locally: What do you generally order? Is it delivered to you or do you pick it up yourself? Is there set schedule?
7) Please shared a cherished local foods anecdote.
8) How do you see local foods fostering a sense of community and place for your restaurant in Grinnell?
9) In your opinion, what are the biggest problems with our current food system? Describe your vision of an ideal food system.
10) Local foods (and restaurants) is about more than food; it is largely about fostering a sense of community. Do you see yourselves encouraging a sense of place and belonging beyond buying locally? What else do you find important for community and local economy in the same vein as local foods?
